Day 12: …. Still Working!!

The team is still busy working away on our report, hard to believe that in less than 2 days we will have completed our final presentation here in Auroville! Kelsey, Nadia, and Carling were the final group to have their Matrimandir visit today, now every team member has participated in the incredible, out of this world experience.

Today was a pretty hectic work day, so nothing toooooo exciting to report in our blog. The girls have drafted their methodology chapter for their report, started to brainstorm all their recommendations and implementation tools for their Framework and are now looking to finalize drafts and organize the presentation! So much to do and so little time, but if there is a group of girls that can do it, I know it is us!

The team did take a break this afternoon and went on a heritage tour of Pondicherry. The coastal town of Pondicherry is famous for the Colonial French and Franco-Tamil architecture of some of the buildings. The influence of the French culture can also be seen in street art around the town and in the décor of most of the private homes. Overall, the buildings and structures were absolutely incredible and it is amazing to see the French influence on the city’s architecture.

Ajay has kept the team well fed, to say the least. Today we were supplied with not just samosas but also treats from the Auroville Bakery, chocolate or caramel toffee cake, anyone? We are working on a way to ship the goodies back home. We met up with Ajay for dinner after our heritage tour, where he ordered local cuisine to the table. Everything was absolutely delicious, the stand out dish of the night was most definitely the Gobi Manchurian, which is a spicy and crispy Indo Chinese dish made of deep-fried cauliflower.

One of the highlights of the day though would most definitely be the music during our drives to and from Pondicherry. On the way, the girls heard some Indian tunes and danced to the complex beats (or should I say tried to dance…). Our driver on the way home gave us that AUX cord and we were able to listen to some classics from Earth Wind Fire, ABBA, John Denver and Lynard Skynard just to name a few.
